Energy EMF Hygiene

I bet when Albert Einstein said, "Energy cannot be created or destroyed. It can only be changed from one form to another." he had no idea how true that was and how forward-thinking he was. He knew that everything at its most fundamental level was energy. Now, science tells us that, indeed, what Einstein knew is thought to be true. You, me, and our world are one big connected ball of vibrating atoms on various frequencies. Your body's cells produce energy, frequency, vibration, and resonance. When your frequencies are optimal, it can help contribute to your well-being. If you know me, then you know this girl is all about energy management and hygiene as a guide to our self-care. 

With this blog, I want to bring a little perspective on how different artificial energy aspects in our environment impact our physicality. When considering the larger picture, this may serve as a guide to some lifestyle changes. Having studied aspects of the subtle energy body, I find myself exploring what intuitively made sense. Something we know on some level but easily overlook is how our body's natural electrical fields are being disrupted by manufactured EMFs (Electrical Magnetic Fileds) and radiation in the convenience and technology of life. We exist within a soup of frequencies, some are healthy, and others disruptive. Knowing so, we can do some things to clean it up and practice better EMF hygiene for less impact on the mind and body. In time, maybe we will evolve physically into a more natural self-regulating way, as we move toward the future. 

Let's dive a little deeper…..

Shane Reilly, specializes in creating healthy indoor environments, especially regarding reducing EMF radiation. His guide EMF Guide 101 shares that "An electromagnetic field (EMF) is a physical field produced by electrically charged objects. It affects the behavior of charged objects in the vicinity of the field. It is one of nature's four fundamental forces (gravitation, weak and strong interaction). The easiest way to think of an EMF is as an invisible force field. You can think of EMFs in terms of artificial and natural. On Earth, examples of natural EMFs are sunlight, the DC magnetic field from the Earth, and the Schumann Resonance, to name a few. All life has developed under their influence, and they are healthy to be in and around. We know this intuitively, and so do animals and other living things.

The unveiling of the light bulb and AC electric motor at the Chicago World Fair in 1893 was a watershed moment, leading to widespread electrification and illumination of the world in a new way. Since then, the inventions of the radio, radar, microwave ovens, cordless telephones, cellular telephones, WiFi, smart meters, smart homes, Bluetooth, LED lighting (and on and on…) have all come onto the scene, adding a vast symphony of artificial energies to our beautiful world. On the other hand, artificial EMFs, referred to as EMF pollution, have only been around for approximately 130 years. Most people are exposed to this pollution around the clock at home, work, car, or store. Many natural areas have even become polluted with artificial EMFs from nearby cell towers or power lines. One key difference between natural and artificial EMFs: artificial are polarized and extremely coherent (focused), while natural is not. This tells us that the energies humans have introduced into the environment in the last 130 years are alien compared to natural EMFs. At a cellular level, our bodies are confused by artificial EMF energy and haven't had the time to adapt in an evolutionary sense. 

EMFs work by activating what are called voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCs). These are channels in the cell's outer membrane, the plasma membrane surrounding all our cells. When activated, they open up and allow calcium to flow into the cell. The excess calcium in the cell is responsible for most, if not all, of the [biological effects]. This disruption of calcium timing in your body is akin to deliveries and shipments happening at the exact same warehouse doors at the exact same time. Chaos would ensue. In the body, chaos is known as inflammation. Chronic inflammation leads to disease processes like cancer, neuro-degeneration, diabetes, and others. Other effects from EMFs noted are oxidative stress [imbalance in the state of a cell, causing toxic effects through the production of peroxides and free radicals that damage all components of the cell] • Sperm/testicular damage • Neuropsychiatric effects including EEG [brain activity] changes • Apoptosis [programmed cell death] • Cellular DNA damage • Endocrine [hormone] changes, and a whole host of things that on one level or another we are all experiencing symptoms of from Electro-hypersensitivity Syndrome (EHS). Shane Reilly says the following is a sampling of the growing body of research on this topic.  

Unnatural EMFs come in the form of,

  1. Toxic lighting, LED bulbs, and blue light frequencies should be balanced by redlight frequencies first provided in nature.

  2. Radio Frequency (RF) Radiation, Cellular towers and phones, Bluetooth devices, cordless phones, baby monitors, smart meters, smart appliances, printers, laptops, laptops, digital assistants (Alexa), doorbell cameras, and so many more.

  3. AC Magnetic Fields, Home wiring, power lines, AC/DC converter, lamps, extension cords, and most plugin appliances.

  4. AC Electric Fileds, Home wiring, power lines, AC/DC converter, lamps, extension cords, and most plugin appliances.

  5. Dirty Electricity, LED and fluorescent light bulbs, dimmer switches, solar panel inverters, switch-mode power supplies, variable speed motors


Natural EMFs and reconnecting to Mother Nature can offset some artificial EMFs. There's a reason it feels so good to be in nature! 

  1. Grounding/Earthing, Connect to the Earth's unlimited resources of electrons to lower inflammation and dissipate detrimental energies. Find an outdoor area and connect to it with your bare feet—soil, water, and grass all work. Asphalt won't work, and concrete is not ideal.   2. Circadian Reset, Set a reoccurring alarm on your phone to get outside for 5-10 minutes 2-3 times throughout the day at a minimum.

  3. Light, Full spectrum sunlight is available at various times of the year, depending upon where you live. Make sure to get as much as possible to support natural vitamin D production (supplements alone won't cut it) and innate immunity.

  4. Water, Spring water from a glass bottle in the store or a local spring will best help offset the cellular dehydration effect from EMFs. Water filtered through a reverse osmosis system would be second best.

  5. Movement/Exercise, is an excellent add-on to being grounded and under natural light. Your body will perform better than if you were indoors and under human-made lights because it is not as stressed from the EMF burden of an indoor environment.

  6. Natural Healing Resets. Talking to our bodies in a way that sends different information to our cells. Reiki, Sound Healing, Bioenergetic Optimizers, Crystals, and Stress Reduction techniques.

Creating changes within your home is a slightly bigger task.

  1. Things that plugin, Appliances like your lamp, blender, or oven (or anything that plugs in) all have an EMF hotspot within 3-5 feet. Think of this as a bubble 3-5 feet in diameter with very high AC electric and magnetic fields. USB-charging cables aren't grounded and are big EMF polluters. Select appliances and tech with 3-pronged plugs to help dissipate the AC electric fields

  2. Wireless Devices, Reducing wireless in your home is usually the greatest impact you can have on EMF exposures. The best way to accomplish this is with a home ethernet system. This will allow most devices to connect to the internet via cables without emitting wireless radiation.

  3. WIFI, This router pulses 90% less frequently than conventional ones, reducing the amount of radiation being emitted into your environment. It has many other valuable features, including a programmable timer, adjustable transmit power, and an easy on/off button for WiFi (for those rare times when you need it)

  4. Cell Phones, Most devices emit radiation constantly in the background, even when not in use. Either ensure they are in full airplane mode or powered off. The phone should NEVER be in a pocket, bra, or otherwise next to your body while on. Keep it in a backpack, purse, or bag. Speakerphone mode or headsets are the best way to keep distance when making a call.

  5. Offices and workspaces, Maintain 3-5' from all devices that plug in to reduce AC electric and magnetic exposure. This may require rearranging your work area, such as moving the computer/monitor further away.

  6. Sleeping Area Sleeping Areas o Should be ultra-low EMF to promote deep, restorative sleep. The studies on sleep and EMFs are astounding!

  7. Visible Light EMFs, At night, within 1-2 hours of sunset, use red incandescent bulbs whenever possible and/or battery-powered red lanterns. Wear glasses that block undesirable frequencies of light (blue) indoors, especially after the sun sets.

  8. Phones and tablets will have a nightshift mode in the display settings. Turn them as warm (yellow/orange) as possible, and use this hack for after-sunset viewing. Wear glasses that block undesirable frequencies of light (blue) indoors, especially after the sun sets.

  9. Hire a mitigation inspector to measure spikes in the home and tools for checking it up practically in our home and office environments.

All of this can be quite overwhelming. I agree, but information and knowledge are empowering, so I will not leave you hanging. Information in and information out, and we do our best to consider it all in various ways. Energy is information, first and foremost. Again information is power, and any adjustments to lifestyle in a positive direction for restoring healthy frequencies can be valuable. We are likely to keep the advantages of technology for now. Einstein also said," energy is the future of medicine" remember I said, "information in and information out?" If we can offset the derogatory information or frequencies bombarding the energetic body constantly to any degree with optimal, more ideal frequencies, that's exciting!
