What If Intuition Isn't Something You Find, But Something You Remember?

Have you ever thought about someone only to have them call a few minutes later? Or walked into a room and immediately sensed something felt off before anyone spoke a word? Maybe you've had a feeling to take a different route home, call a friend, postpone a meeting, or say yes to an opportunity that made absolutely no logical sense at the time.
All of us have experienced intuition. The funny thing is, we often talk ourselves out of it. We call it coincidence, a lucky guess, wishful thinking. Maybe we're not recognizing it as intuition.
Yet what if intuition is one of the most natural parts of being human? Not something reserved for psychics, healers, or spiritual seekers, but something we all have. Something we've simply forgotten how to trust.

More Than a Thinking Brain

For years, we've been taught that our brain is the command center of everything. Yet science continues to reveal a much bigger story. Your heart communicates with your brain. Your nervous system is constantly scanning your environment. Your body processes far more information than your conscious mind can keep track of.

And then there's DNA! Most of us think of DNA as the blueprint for our physical body only, but what if it is also a part of a much larger information network? While science has not proven that DNA stores intuition, some researchers and theorists suggest it may play a role in how we receive, process, and respond to information beyond our conscious awareness.
Perhaps intuition isn't something mystical. Maybe it's information rising from deeper levels of awareness before the logical mind catches up.

You've Been Using Intuition Your Entire Life

A mother wakes moments before her baby cries. You think about someone you haven't seen in years and receive a message from them later that day. You meet someone and instantly feel comfortable, or instantly know you need healthy boundaries.
You don't have proof, you simply know. These moments remind us that we are constantly receiving information in ways we don't fully understand.
Maybe intuition isn't magic. Maybe it's a natural expression of consciousness.

Why We Keep Looking Outside Ourselves

We live in a world overflowing with advice. Experts, books, social media, podcasts. Everyone seems to have an answer. The challenge is that we can become so focused on what everyone else thinks that we stop listening to ourselves.
We ask,"What should I do?" Instead of, "What do I already know?"
There is wisdom in seeking guidance. But there is also wisdom in learning to trust the quiet voice within.

What Highly Intuitive People Tend to Do Differently

Highly intuitive people aren't necessarily gifted with special powers, different from you. But, more often, they've simply learned to listen.

They will tend to:

  • Spend time in reflection and stillness

  • Pay attention to subtle feelings and body signals

  • Trust their first impressions while remaining open-minded

  • Notice patterns others overlook

  • Value time in nature

  • Allow space between stimulus and response

  • Listen more than they speak, taking it in.

  • Remain curious rather than needing immediate answers

  • Trust themselves without needing constant external validation, important.

In other words, they create conditions where intuition can be experienced.

How Do You Know It's Intuition?

One of the biggest questions people ask is:
"How do I know if it's intuition or fear?"

Fear tends to be:

  • Loud

  • Urgent

  • Repetitive

  • Emotionally charged

Intuition tends to be:

  • Calm

  • Clear

  • Simple

  • Neutral

  • Persistent without being pushy

It often arrives as a gentle knowing rather than an emotionally charged argument.

Ways to Strengthen Your Intuition

Create a Daily Sacred Pause

Five minutes.

No phone.

No distractions.

Just breathe and listen., don't over analyze.

You can't hear a whisper in a crowded room.

Practice Heart Listening

Place your hand over your heart and take a few slow breaths.

Ask yourself:

"What feels most aligned for me right now?"

Notice what arises before the mind begins debating, again don't over analyze!

Spend Time in Nature

Nature naturally quiets mental noise and heightens awareness, so underrated!

Some of our clearest insights arrive when we're not actively searching for them, allow the flow.

Journal Before Sleep

Write down a question before bed.

Then let it go, no attachments

Notice what thoughts, dreams, or insights emerge over the next day or two.

Follow Small Nudges

Don't wait for a life-changing revelation, intuition is subtle

Trust the little nudges.

The more you listen, the more familiar intuition becomes.

Maybe It Was Never Really Missing

What if intuition isn't something you need to develop?

What if it's something you need to remember?

What if the wisdom you've been searching for has never been somewhere "out there" waiting to be found?

What if it has been within you all along?

Beneath the noise.

Beneath the expectations.

Beneath the endless doing.

Waiting patiently for a Sacred Pause.

Waiting for you to listen.

Waiting for you to remember.

After all, perhaps intuition isn't about predicting the future.

Perhaps it's about helping you navigate, the past, present, and future.
